What is Sent Initiative?
Sent Initiative is a 4-week immersive discipleship experience for college students designed to catalyze a profound love for the Great Commission. This is not just a program; it’s a movement, compelling college students to go beyond boundaries, impact lives, and contribute meaningfully to the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Sent Initiative fosters a deep spiritual growth and maturity in you through comprehensive theological training, discipleship practices, and intentional mentorship. You will become a greater ambassador of hope, love, and justice, creating a ripple effect that resonates globally and advances Jesus’s Great Commission mandate to make disciples of all nations.

You will be instilled with a missionary mindset by living out the teachings of Christ in everyday life, seeing every encounter as an opportunity for positive influence and discipleship.

Sent Initiative inspires you to become intentional disciple-makers, multiplying your impact with others in your spheres of influence through the Gospel. You will be equipped with leadership skills that empower you to lead with integrity, humility, and effectiveness in various contexts, preparing you to influence and inspire others.

The summer includes:
1. Local Outreach
You will live out the Gospel in Waynesville by sharing the good news of Jesus, addressing tangible needs, fostering compassion, and creating a positive impact on a grassroots level.
2. National Church Planting
You will travel to another church plant within the US to help advance the Gospel in another city. This week will be filled with getting to know another church planter, serving their church, and engaging the community.
3. International Missions
You will travel to another country to partner with one of our international church planters as they engage their people groups with the Gospel. Learn first-hand what it means to Live Sent!

How long is the Sent Intiative?
Sent Intiative is seven weeks long.
Am I required to raise support?
Yes. The total cost of Sent Initiative without a discount is $5,000. The goal would be for you to raise this support with the guidance of Gateway staff.
Will I need a passport that is up to date?
Yes! We will be traveling outside the country and your passport will need to be up to date.
Where will I live over the summer?
While we are in Waynesville, you will stay with at a Gateway member’s house. This is an opportunity for you to get to know our people in a deeper way.
While outside of Waynesville, accomodations will be provided for you.
What does the $5,000 cover?
The $5,000 covers your travel expenses and housing expenses over the summer. Food expenses will be the responsibility of the student unless otherwise stated in the itinerary.
How much is the Early Enrollment Discount?
The discount will vary based on how many people we have enrolled early. But it should be anywhere from 10-20% (that’s $1,000 to $2,000) off from the $5,000 total cost!
